In 1937, while strolling along the Normandy coast, Robert Dumas noticed the anchor chains used to anchor ships. He was inspired by this and designed the classic Chaines d’ancre anchor chain element. This element combines practicality and aesthetics, symbolizing Herm è s’ discerning eye.
In 1938, the Chaine d’AAncre silver bracelet was born, and the brand opened up a new field from then on. Since then, anchor chains have become an endless source of inspiration, constantly being freely interpreted in various forms and materials.
